WHO:

We created Barxford University after so many families reached out to us for help but couldn’t afford our in person services or lived several states away. We wanted to help more families get their dog to listen so they can enjoy the benefits of a calm dog.

Here’s our official bio:

Krystal and Eric are parents, dog owners, and dog trainers who help other dog families to achieve harmony in their home so that they can do less worrying about what their dog will do next and more enjoying their dog at all times.

They have worked with hundreds of families and their dogs for over 15 years in their dog training business. Krystal is a Certified Dog Trainer and Professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and a Certified S.T.A.R Puppy and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator credibility through AKC.

They reside in Greenville, SC with their family of four kids (ages 10 and under), dog, cats, snakes, and chickens. They are both actively involved in a local nonprofit that fights sex trafficking and they enjoy hiking, spelunking, and having adventures with their family.

As a small family run business, there are only so many leashes Krystal and Eric can handle at once. They want to be able to help more families, but still be present for their family too. Barxford University was created to fill this gap. Virtually, they can help many families at once.

WHY Barxford University?

I was at the vet's office with Zeus -- this environment is bursting with distractions for a young pup. Zeus and I were minding our own business....me playing on my phone and Zeus politely lying next to my feet despite numerous cats and dogs traipsing in and out.

A rather large man entered the office -- notice I didn't say "walked" into the office. Instead, he was being pulled one way and then another by his moderate sized dog. Nothing he tried was working. The man (a bit slow on the uptake) replied....what can he do?

Me: Do?

Man: Yeah, you know. What tricks can he do?

Me: Well, let me think... He will not get on the staircase while a human is on it and waits until he's invited upstairs before putting the first paw on the bottom step. He sits and waits patiently while I fill his food and water dish. He comes to me and politely sits at my feet when I ask him to. He can hold his "place" on virtually any object, including a tree stump, and doesn't move until I give him permission. He walks beside me without pulling on his leash, sitting at my feet when I stop. He allows me to go through the door and any other tight space before he does. He doesn't jump on the couch or bed unless I invite him to. He sits and lies down when asked. When I tell him to go to his crate, he willingly trots in without a whimper. Tricks? I guess he doesn't know any TRICKS, but he's a welcome member of our family.

Man: (reality finally settling in) Could I have your trainer's name and number?

Me: Sure! Here's one of their cards.

Second man: (who's been taking in this entire exchange while holding his new puppy). Hey lady! Can I have one of those cards too?

When does Barxford University start? How long do I have access? How much time will it take to complete the course?

Answer:

The first lesson(s) will be available immediately upon enrollment. You will have access to the course for life so you will have as much time as you need to complete the course. You will have access to Krystal and Eric for 1 free month after enrollment or for as long as you continue your membership.

Question:

Will I get help directly from Krysta and Eric? Is there a community where I'll get support as I work through the course?

Answer:

Yes! As you go through your course using the systems and techniques inside of Barxford University, you’ll get help directly from Krystal and Eric inside the students’ only support group. Inside the group, you'll receive support from Krystal and Eric as well as our community to answer questions and offer feedback. VIP members will also have the option to schedule 1-on-1 video chats for personalized instruction and to upload videos of their dog(s) for analysis and specific feedback.

Why isn't this a bigger investment?

Answer:

A small investment makes this a no-brainer. This is our first time opening the online version of Barxford University. Since it's our first time launching it, we expect a few growing pains and you can help us through that.

What if I have already tried training elsewhere and I didn’t get the results I needed?

Answer:

Many of our families have been to other trainers and did not get the results they were looking for and needed. In the 15 years we have been training we have not had a dog or client that we were not able to help curb their dog’s behaviors. We understand that all dogs are unique and some require a different approach/methodology than others. If you are willing to put in the work and follow the instructions given to you, you will be successful.

Question:

Are there additional costs associated with Barxford University? Will I need to invest in anything?

Answer:

For some dogs, their regular buckle collar and leash will be sufficient. We sometimes use food in the beginning phases of training. That is typically your dog’s normal meal (kibble) so we are not adding extra expense and calories to your dog’s diet. Sometimes treats are necessary for dogs with a low food drive. We begin to phase food out relatively early so that if additional treats are necessary it is not a long-running expense. Some dogs will require a prong training collar (roughly $25) or other corrective tools like a spray bottle or air can. All of these can be purchased from Amazon.com. A list of recommended products will be provided.

Question:

What if I have no dog training experience and my dog is very challenging? Will Barxford University actually help me get my dog to listen and behave?

Answer:

Yes, the lessons are broken down so anyone can understand and implement the lessons. The instructions are very step-by-step so you won’t be left wondering how to advance from one lesson to the next with your dog.

Question:

Why should I buy the course now? Couldn’t I accomplish this on my own with free resources like YouTube?

Answer:

Absolutely, you could train your dog on your own. There are many different correct ways to train a dog. Many different methods will work. The trouble is not every method that works for some dogs will work for your dog or dogs. We teach many different types of dogs. This is typically most dependent on a dog’s individual personality although breed, age, and genetics are factors as well. One of the keys to being successful in training your dog is consistency. You have to know what approach you are going to use and stick to it. And oftentimes when you feel like giving up or trying something new you are just about to have a breakthrough but you can’t see it yet. As you go through this course we will coach you on whether or not you should continue with what you are doing, make a slight change to your approach or change course entirely and try a new approach with your dog. Without that, you could spend years spinning your wheels never creating real change in your dog and your relationship with your dog because you don’t realize how close you are to success and how to get there
